                                    Built on the site of Hurd%u2019s Tavern, its Grand Opening was on July 5, 1909. The hotel%u2019s restaurant featured one of Chicago%u2019s best chefs, and it boasted shady porches, a bowling alley, billiards, lavishly furnished lounges, cafe service, and easy access to the Interurban line. Razed in 1970, the site is now home to the Post Office.Built in 1893 after the Great Princeton Fire consumed 55 to 60 buildings in a four-block area west of the Courthouse. It had 40 rooms and 6 baths. In about 1915, a cafeteria was open 24-hours a day. After the early 1950s, it was known as the Emerson Hotel, and in 1984 the Union Federal Savings Bank was built on the site.
