Designed by local architect Willard M. Ellwood, and built in 1939 with 150 guest rooms and 21 small apartments. Partly owned by Jacob Hoffman, manager of the LaSalle Hotel. Converted into an office building in the 1960s, now Hoffman Hotel Apartments with 48 units. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Little is now known of the Crescent, whose small sign can be seen on the tan building at the right. Its first appearance in the South Bend City Directory was in 1908, and its last in 1940. It was located at 121 North Michigan Street, and was one of 12 hotels listed in the city 1910.
