                                    The original building was built in 1883 by John Wing, with the Bliss built in 1904 with $35,000 in capital stock, and Cuno Kibele as architect. The Wabash Valley Interurban ran past the front door. After being demolished, Garrett%u2019s Marathon gasoline station was built on the site, which was later replaced by Welches auto repair.Built in 1841 by William Laughlin. In 1856 it became the Carr House, then the Capp House in 1878, the Windsor House in 1889, and the Lollis Hotel in 1926. Mary and Leo Durbin bought it in 1926, but didn%u2019t change the name to the Durbin Hotel until their loan was paid off. Wendell Willkie used the hotel for his campaign headquarters in the 1940 presidential election. Closed in 1981, and now a senior housing facility.
