She was also the last pastor to serve at the Madison Avenue Spiritualist Temple in Anderson. In its December 5, 1945 issue, the Cincinnati Enquirer said she was a %u201cslender white-haired elderly woman, she wore a smart pink dress and carried a dainty white handkerchief by a corner in her left hand.%u201d The newspaper described her performance as follows: %u201cShe walked to the front of the stage and said: %u2018I have the name of Wilson%u2014John Wilson. Is there a John Wilson here?%u2019 A middle-aged man in the third row squirmed in his seat and answered uneasily, %u2018Yes!%u2019 %u2018Your mother and father are here,%u2019 Mrs. Cox continued. %u2018And there%u2019s a William Connors. He%u2019s an uncle of yours. He says he%u2019s here. Says to tell you hello and everything is all right. And there%u2019s Rose. There%u2019s two of them, they%u2019re both here. One of them is your sister. Yes?%u2019 Mr. Wilson answered, %u2018Yes.%u2019 %u2018The other Rose is your daughter.%u2019 ...[She] called perhaps 500 names of dead relatives or friends of people in the audience and only in one case did she miss two names whom the recipient of the message claimed they did not know.%u201d
