When opened across from Methodist Hospital in April 1926 as the Hotel Wesley, it catered to patients, visitors of patients, and other travelers. When it was sold in 1932, another story was added, and it became the Hotel Riley. In August 1954, it was converted into a residential facility for Methodist Hospital nurses and renamed Wesley Hall. The building was razed in 1978 to become a parking lot. A fire station occupied the site from 1983 to 2008, but it is now again an empty lot.
