They donated both money, and 200 acres of farm land, to the United Methodist Church for its construction. Three years later, the first 37-room residential building was completed, and Jacob Click of Rock Creek Township, a 50-year-old bachelor, became the first congregate to move in. By 1918, there were 38 residents, and the Home had assets of $169,031.85. Over the next two decades, two more wings were built and nearly 70 rooms added. As a young man, William Chopson had been passionate about education. He created a school in Warren and another in Grant County. After marrying Ruth Swaim, the couple opened a general store in Warren. Unable to have children of their own, they turned their compassion and attention towards others. They were described as being a %u201cworthy couple (with) the confidence and respect of the entire community.%u201d And, they %u201callowed no opportunity to pass to care for the least of these.%u201d By the end of the 20th century, the facility had been renamed Heritage Pointe of Warren, a not- forprofit religious organization.
