Vintage Postcards of Indiana Health FacilitiesHetty Vorhis Home%u2014%u2014Winchester, Indiana%u2014%u2014Established 1916Mrs. Hetty Vorhis, a local benefactor, donated $50,000 for a home for aged women. Known originally as theHetty Vorhis Home for Old Ladies, it was given to Randolph County in January 1919, and used for a hospital that wasenlarged in 1953 and 1970. After a new hospital was built in 2001, it became the Randolph Center for Family Opportunity.Haven Hubbard House%u2014%u2014New Carlisle, Indiana%u2014%u2014Established 1922When Haven Hubbard died childless in 1916, his widow Arminia gave a religious group the 750-acre family farm and19th century homestead with enough money to build the Haven Hubbard Memorial Old People%u2019s Home. In the earlyyears, it had a large working farm, complete with beef and dairy cows, hogs and poultry. It closed in 2005.Homes and Orphanages
