                                    %u2022 June 6-8, 1912. Two aviators, Lincoln Beachey and Horace Kearney, each flew mail pouches from the Evansville Courier Aviation Meet at the fairgrounds to Woodmere IN, a distance of about 2 miles, where the mail bags were dropped from the plane, picked up, and taken to the local post office. About 2,500 specially printed postcards were sent over the three-day event.Pioneer Flights (continued)Lincoln Beachey, who flew air mail at the Evansville Courier Aviation Meet in 1912, was the first American to master the loop, the first man to build a plane specifically designed for aerobatics, and the first aviator to fly inside a building. He was killed in 1915 while attempting an inverse loop over San Francisco Bay.
