This Air Mail cover marked the 45th CIPEX (Centerville International Philatelic Exposition), which was held in Richmond, Indiana on March 15-16, 2003. CPEX is sponsored annually by the Centerville Stamp Club Inc., which was founded in Centerville in 1912, and was incorporated in Richmond in 1967. The cover%u2019s special pictorial cancellation was approved by the United States Postal Service in the March 6, 2003 issue of the Postal Bulletin. It commemorates the 100thanniversary of the Wright brothers first successful powered flight at Kitty Hawk. (Wilbur was born in 1867 in Millville, Indiana, approximately 20 miles from Centerville, and the family lived in Richmond from 1881 to 1884.) Pictorial cancellations were approved for the club by the USPS in 1994 through 2015.Cover contained flyer on next page. No backstamp.
