Chambers, who operated out of Luckey, OH, made his first cachet in 1931, and his last in 1953. After 1935, he called his work Gold Bond Cachets. Addressee, Edward Hoopes (1882-1965), was a civil engineer by training, and he served on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia branch of Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, a company founded by his father in 1893.
