Addressee, Elwood R. Etter, was a speaker of Espiranto (an Esperantisto), a Sustaining Member of Amerika Esperantisto, and author of Esperanto-Skribfolioj, Kalendaroj, ktp.Addressee, Dr. Harvey Claude Updegrove, was an Easton, PA surgeon, whose father and son were also doctors. He was a tennis champion in Lehigh Valley, and played with Bill Tilden when he was in the area. In WWI, he served as captain of an Orthopaedic Unit in the British Army Medical Corps, and was awarded the British Military Cross. At age 75, after going fishing, he was pulled from the surf, drowned, in Hollywood, FL.
