Vintage Postcards of Indiana Health FacilitiesSt. Mary%u2019s Hospital%u2014%u2014Evansville, Indiana%u2014%u2014Established 1872Four nuns from the Daughters of Charity began treating the sick in the vacant Old Marine Hospital in 1872,then erected this building in 1894 with steam-powered elevators. The facility moved to a new building in 1956.Deaconess Hospital and Nurses Home%u2014%u2014Evansville, Indiana%u2014%u2014Established 1892After originally operating out of a house with 19 patient beds, this building was erected in 1899,with a fourth floor and a large addition added in the 1920s.
