A Century of Progress %u2022 Vintage PostcardsFort Dearborn, 8Blockhouse and soldiers' barracks of the \Fort Dearborn,\Lake Michigan as part of the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition. Near here stood the original blockhouse and barracks of the old fort, whose inhabitants were victims in 1812 of the Dearborn massacre, eventful day in Chicago%u2019s pioneer history.Gauden%u2019s Statue of Abraham Lincoln, 25%u201cThe Sitting Lincoln,%u201d St. Gauden%u2019s last work and by many regarded as his masterpiece stands in Grant Park with the skyscrapers of the loop as its background.
