This was the Official First Day Cover for Operation Jupiter. A veteran stamp collector, Professor H. George DeKay of the Purdue University Pharmacy Department, was a special advisor to the Operation Jupiter Committee, and he was in charge of selling cacheted envelops in the Lafayette area. Under his direction, almost 20,000 were sold to local businesses, industries, and individuals.Proceeds were divided between the Philatelic Society and the Operation Jupiter Committee. Addressee, Leo Weber, owned Weber%u2019s Hobby Shop in Lafayette.
