Established on September 15, 1890. According to the Postal Bulliten of October 31, 1957, this Post Office was scheduled to be closed on November 15, 1957 and cenverted into a Rural Station of Loogootee, but the change was postponed to December 27, 1957 in the November 27, 1957 Postal Bulliten. Yet this cover is postmarked on November 4, 1957, and is signed on that date by the local Postmaster, Ruth Summerville. This Post Office was eventually closed for good in the 1960s, and its mail was routed through Loogootee. Rubber stamped on back with %u201cBert L. Davis, Box 213, Iols, Kansas.%u201dEstablished on January 13, 1848. On August 31, 1957, it was converted to North Madison Classified Station. Signed by Postmaster Ruth Pommerelin.
