Established in Allen County on September 18, 1964. Zanesville straddles the Allen and Wells County line, and prior to September 18, 1964, the Post Office was in Wells County. This cover is postmarked on September 30, 1997, the last day the Post Office was in its old Allen County building. Backstamp October 1, 1997, the first day in the new building. Signed by Rosemary Kumfer, Postmaster. Established on April 10, 1893. After closing on January 2, 1976, mail passed through Young%u2019s Creek (with an apostrophe). Signed by R.W. Stout, Postmaster.
