Wright was born in 1882, and began collecting stamps in grade school. In 1904, he traveled to New Zealand (where he developed crippling arthritis) to perform missionary work. As an adult, he became a popular cachet maker. He died in 1968, at the age of 86.A Paducah, Kentucky insurance agency, founded by Ulmer S. Evans and Mel Parker.
