The Indiana Sesquicentennial stamp was not the first to be released in Vincennes. That distinction goes to the George Rogers Clark stamp, which had its First Day of Issue there on February 25, 1929. It honored the sesquicentennial of Clark%u2019s defeat of British forces at Fort Sackville, which had been in British hands since the Proclamation of 1863.Sent Air Mail. No backstamp.
