Built by architects Rubush and Hunter, who were part owners, along with banker Albert E. Metzger. Because of economic difficulties, it was erected in two phases, with 8 stories completed in 1918, and 6 floors added in 1921. It was a popular convention center for groups ranging from the D.A.R. to the Ku Klux Klan. In 1955, it became the Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel. Razed in 1973, the Hyatt Regency Hotel is now on the site.
