                                    Constructed in 1891. During most of the 1890s, many first-floor shops were occupied by a large World%u2019s Fair Store, with goods celebrating the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The hotel was often troubled with gambling, prostitution, and suicides. Demolished in 1967, now home to Simon Property World Headquarters.Built in 1909 and originally included the 1,400-seat Vaudeville Theater which was later renamed the Empress Theater, then the Fox Theater, which was known for showing adult films. The entire block was razed in the late 1970s.
