Huffman was forced down at Friends Woods (near Camby), and the mail was taken back to Indianapolis where pilot J.P. Riddle flew it to Chicago. Only a handful of covers fall into both categories. Signed by Robert H. Bryson, who was appointed Acting Postmaster of Indianapolis on January 16, 1922, and Postmaster on January 18, 1922. He served until 1932.
