CAM-24S2%u2014%u2014December 28, 1929%u2014%u2014Indianapolis to Cincinnati, OH.The significance of the date on this cover (and the one on the previous page) is unknown today, although it must have been noteworthy to both the airline and to philatelists. The two covers were signed by different pilots, indicating different flights, of which there were three a day at that time. Signed by pilot Clarence Owen %u201cMac%u201d Meguire (photo below), who died at the age of 23 on October 30, 1930 of a %u201ccrushed skull and chest%u201d when his airplane crashed near Brookston, Indiana. Apparently he attempted to bail out but %u201chis parachute fouled in the wings and dragged him to his death.%u201d With an envelope stuffer consisting of a blank endorsement form for the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co.
