After the Air Mail Scandal, a new AM-10 Route was established and awarded to Eastern Air Lines, Inc., which had previously been known as Eastern Air Transport. Eddie Rickenbacker began managing the company in 1935. and he remained CEO until 1959. The new CAM-10 route was derived from the old CAM-30, CAM-19, and CAM20 routes. It%u2019s initial Chicago-Jacksonville segment was 925 miles long, with one round-trip daily. The first southbound flight was on June 1, 1934, but the first northbound leg wasn%u2019t completed until the next day. Many other segments were added to AM-10 up until the U.S. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978. Eastern began flying Lockheed%u2019s Model 10 Electra in 1935, but in 1951 the company embraced Marin%u2019s Silver Falcon (below), and flew more of them than any other airline.A postcard featuring Eastern%u2019s Silver Falcon (Glen L.
