                                    After the Air Mail Scandal, a new AM-8 Route was established and awarded to Pacific Seaboard Airlines, Inc. It consisted of a part of the old CAM-33 route and the old CAM-2 route. It encompassed a 903-mile route between Chicago and New Orleans, which commenced on June 3, 1934 with one round-trip daily.Roughly 7 months later, on January 1, 1935, Pacific Seaboard changed its name to Chicago & Southern Airlines, which better reflected its territory. In March of 1947, AM-53 was merged into AM-8.An AM-8 stop in Evansville was added, with a first flight (southbound) from there on September15, 1947. (A northbound flight was added on September 19.)
