West Nyack, New York. %u2022 Pub. by Odell Photographers, Anderson, Ind. %u2022 #76838-B.During a 1961 s%u00e9ance at Camp Chesterfield, Bruno Cieslak (a Canadian) was asked by his Indiana Guide, Tinkletoe, if he would purchase a Totem Pole for the camp. Toward that end, he obtained a sketch from Chief Charles H. Dudoward of the Thunderbird Totem Pole Shoppe in Port Simpson, British Columbia, Canada. After the camp%u2019s Board of Trustees approved the drawing, he ordered it at a cost of $250.00 plus $65.10 for shipping. It was installed in 1962.Dexter Press, Inc. His palms are upturned, and his face looks toward the sun, the source of all life. The statue is located on the camp%u2019s Inspiration Hill, and its inscription reads, %u201cA Memorial to the American Indian. Suggested by George Maxon from the Spirit World.
