National Air Mail Week Covers of IndianaIndiana NAMW PilotsThe letter below was sent to %u201cIndiana Pilots and Friends%u201d by Herbert O. Fisher, who was Director of Aeronautics at the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. In it, Fisher describes how 89 pilots flew more than 200,000 pieces of mail, over approximately 10,000 miles, in their own airplanes, without any accidents, to help make National Air Mail Week a success. The letter%u2019s attachments, which contained a listing of all the pilots, has been condensed onto the following three pages. The list is alphebetical, and provides each pilot%u2019s hometown, and the route flown. As noted, sme pilots made return trips later in the day from Indianapolis.
