Drabyk (founder of National Air Mail Week Historical Society) made an attempt at listing all the NAMW covers in the United States. It was a daunting challenge. While much of his information came from his own research and from fellow collectors, he also examined the Archive of Postmaster General James A. Farley at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum. Importantly, Drabyk relied on regular input from other philatelists and dealers. This allowed him to release a new revision each year until the final one in 2012 (See Bibliography). In that last edition, he noted there were 1,623 cities and towns in Indiana, although there is some confusion with his numbering. In actuality, he listed 1,634 locales. It remains unknown why he chose certain towns for his roster, because some did not have a Post Office in 1938%u2014and some never had one. According to Indiana Post Offices, there were about 1,000 Post Offices in the Hoosier state in 1938, and Drabyk found NAMW covers for 673 of them. While his efforts are commendable, it is certainly possible that there are covers he missed. Furthermore, some covers he documented for extremely small towns may exist in only a single example%u2014in Farley%u2019s Smithsonian Archive. Again, due to numbering errors, his list actually documents 669 locations, which are listed below. I have deleted his duplicate towns, and added a decimal point (IN###.1) to distinguish a second town that has the same number as another.
