CHICKEN STAMP FIRST DAY COVERSCachet by Mae Weigand, NIM.Neither of these hand-painted Weigand cachets are listed in Mellone%u2019s Photo Encyclopedia of Cacheted First Day Covers. They may have been created for her by Gladys Adler, an artist who lived in San Antonio, Texas. Adler also produced cachets under her own name, and worked from 1936 until the mid 1940s. Actually, Adler was Gladys%u2019 professional name; her real last name was Edmiston.
