Kodak photographic paper post-1950 vintage. #701.Amelia Colby Luther was a Spiritualist minister, trance lecturer, abolitionist, suffragist, free thinker, and one of Camp Chesterfield%u2019s founders. Her cottage was a gathering place for the Women%u2019s Auxiliary, which evolved into the Ladies%u2019 Bazaar Society, a group of likeminded women who often discussed issues relating to their gender. After Rev. Luther passed into spirit in 1897, the ladies bought the house, enlarged it, and added a wrap-around covered porch. In 1922, it was named the Luther Memorial Bazaar, then later became the Bazaar and Gift Shop. By 2002, the building was boarded up, due to a fire and years of neglect. The estimated restoration cost of $100,000 was too much for the community to bear, so the building was razed. A few years later, the Labyrinth was built on the site.
