                                    A Century of Progress %u2022 Vintage Postcards(Inside of Pal-Waukee Airport double postcard)The worst tragedy of the Fair occurred on June 11, 1933, when the Northern Light, one of the sightseeing amphibious airplanes, whose home base was at Pal-Waukee Airport, crashed in the northwest Chicago suburb of Glenview. The pilot, his mechanic, and all seven passengers were killed. The plane had been damaged during an unsuccessful attempt to land on Lake Michigan, and was attempting to reach the airport near Glenview.
