A Century of Progress %u2022 Vintage PostcardsExhibitor & Concessionaire PostcardsChicago%u2019s Chicago Pal-Waukee AirportFounded in 1926, Pal-Waukee Airport built a hanger to house the Goodyear Blimp at A Century of Progress. But the hanger was used by two amphibious aircraft that provided sightseeing flights in Sikorsky S-38's. During the Fair, the planes took off and landed at Lake Michigan, and carried 17,000 passengers during the Fair%u2019s two seasons. A whopping 70% of the passenger flew for the first time in their lives. Each flight lasted about ten minutes, and the fare was $3 per person. The facility is now known as Chicago Executive Airport.
