Between September 20 and September 23 of 1984, the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival was held in Glens Falls, New York. The local Post Office was on hand to service envelopes with a commemorative balloon cancellation at the festival On September 21, nine Donald Duck stamps, along with two Miniature Sheets, were issued by the African nation of Togo to honor the cartoon character%u2019s 50th birthday celebration. Besides being available in Togo, a Post Office was set up to sell stamps and cancel them in Glens Falls in conjunction with the Balloon Festival.This cover has one of the Togo stamps, along with four U.S. stamps, and both cancelations. The cachet was created for the U.S. Ballooning stamp that was issued on March 31, 1983.
