A Last Day Cover is one that has been postmarked on the very last day a particular Post Office was in operation. In this case, it is for the one in Freeland Park, Indiana. The newspaper clipping shows my Grandpa Mendy delivering the last bag of mail to Alberta Pattin, on her final day as Freeland Park%u2019s Postmistress, on November 14, 1953.
