iiGayle and Bill Cook began producing innovative medical devices in a spare bedroom of their Bloomington, Indiana apartment in 1963. From those humble beginnings grew the Cook Group of today, a highly successful, multi-faceted, international corporation. The Cooks have a passion for restoring historic Indiana buildings. Their projects, both large (West Baden Springs Resort, French Lick Springs Resort) and small (Laconia General Store, Beck%u2019s Mill), have revitalized both businesses and communities.John Bower%u2019s compelling blackand-white photographs have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout Indiana. Powerful and moving, his images honor a bygone era of individualism and pride. He%u2019s been featured in scores of publications, and is a popular public speaker. In recognition of the quality and importance of his work, the Indiana Arts Commission has awarded Bower three Individual Artist Grants.
