They were held between 1953 and 1966, and were often sponsored by the local Postal Workers Association. The vehicle on display was usually provided by the HPO contractor who operated the buses on local routes. There were more exhibitions in Indiana than in any other state, and each was held at the Indiana State Fair%u2014in 1957, 1959, 1961, and 1963 thru 1966. Each Indiana event provided a special cachet showing the Indiana state map and its HPO routes. The 1957 and 1959 cancellations did not use a special cancellation, but the later events did. Indiana%u2019s 1966 event was the last to be hosted by any state or county fair. However, after 1976%u2014when the Highway Post Office Service was no longer operating%u2014a restored bus was used at several local stamp shows and exhibits.
