After the Air Mail Scandal, Transcontinental and Western Air, Inc. was awarded the AM-2 contract, it commenced service on May 13, 1934. The new contract included a 2,609-mile %u201ccentral%u201d transcontinental route. The initial westbound flights out of Indianapolis and Terre Haute were on May 13, with the eastbound Terre Haute flight being on May 14. A route was added between Fort Wayne and Pittsburg, via Mansfield, Ohio on November 1, 1947. And a non-stop flight was established between Indianapolis and Cleveland, also on November 1, 1947. A stop was scheduled to be added for Richmond, Indiana between Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio for that same day, but was delayed until November 5. The Indiana stops had previously been covered by CAM-34.
