Built according to the specifications for the original fort, whose inhabitants were victims of the Dearborn Massacre in 1812, this quaint log-built stronghold has already become a magnet for thousands of visitors.Sturgis Lithograph SeriesTravel and Transport Building and Dome, 1209The Travel and Transport building and dome of A Century of Progress Exposition. The main building is 1,000 feet long and from one end to the other there is not a single window. The cable-hung dome is 125 feet high and has a clear interior diameter of 206 feet. The story of transportation%u2019s progress from the ox cart to the airplane will be told in exhibits in this building. Leading railroads, manufactures of railroad equipment, automotive producers and others interested in promoting transportation will present exhibits in this building.
