A Century of Progress %u2022 Vintage PostcardsDonnelley Miniature ViewsAs the authorized printer for the Century of Progress Exhibition, the Reuben H. Donnelly Corporation provided a wide range of products, including a popular series of exposition postcards, which were available in two different series, color and black-andwhite. In addition, Donnelly offered these official photographs in sets of 24 miniature scenes printed on photographic paper in a diminutive 15/8%u201d x 25/8%u201d size, and packaged in a small cardboard box. Interestingly, the prints were made for Donnelley by one of Chicago%u2019s leading printers of photographs%u2014the Stadler Photographing Co.%u2014who also had offices in New York. These miniature scenes were advertised as %u201cOfficial Photographs Chicago World%u2019s Fair,%u201d and the collection was shot by Kaufmann & Fabry Co.%u2014the exhibition%u2019s Official Photographers. Today, many of Kaufmann & Fabry%u2019s images are housed in both the University of Chicago Archives and the University of Illinois Archives%u2014and they%u2019ve been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago.
