A Century of Progress %u2022 Vintage PostcardsPhilately and the FairNew Postage StampsAfter it was learned that Postmaster General Farley had given large imperforate sheets of uncut Souvenir Sheets to friends and colleagues, the Post Office Department issued those same large imperforate sheets (containing 9 Souvenir Sheets) for both Century of Progress stamps on March 15, 1935. This was several months after the Fair closed, and this third version of the 3%u00a2 stamp was designated Scott #767. The only way to differentiate between the earlier #731 stamps and the #767 stamps is if the later have an extra-wide outer margin, or they have a gutter showing portions of two Souvenir Sheets. The above two blocks are examples of Farley Follies (#767): at top is a horizontal gutter block, and at bottom is a cross gutter block.
