Donnelley Corporation%u25a0 Color Series %u25a0Chicagoan Richard Robert Donnelley was the founder of the world%u2019s largest publishing company%u2014R.R. Donnelley & Sons. His eldest son, Reuben, took over one of the subsidiaries of the family business%u2014the Chicago Directory Company which made telephone directories. In 1886, the directory company%u2019s name was changed to Reuben H. Donnelley Corporation. It continued on after Rueben%u2019s death in 1929.Four years later, The Chicago Century of Progress designated the Reuben H. Donnelley Corp. as the Fair%u2019s Official Printer. As such, the company produced two popular series of Fair postcards%u2014 one in color and one in black-and-white. It also designed and printed official tickets, posters, and brochures featuring distinctive modernist designs. Today, Ruben%u2019s company continues in business as a global provider of printing and print-related services.%u2756
