                                    14Borden Museum, Borden%u2014Clark Co. (568-04)(Above) Philanthropist William W. Borden (1823-1906) was a staunch believer in improving rural education. Having a deep interest in geology, he was able to amass a fortune from gold mining, using it to establish an Institute, Library, and Museum in his hometown of New Providence (later renamed Borden in his honor). The Borden Museum%u2019s vast collection included his geological specimens as well as pioneer tools and books. It was acknowledged to be one of country%u2019s best. Today, the building is used as a community center.
